Digital Cameras For KidsFinding digital cameras for kids that are tough, easy operate, and don't break the bank can be an adventure. What you need is a kid tough camera.. If you want a digital camera for kids that are 3 to 8 years old, then you need to stick to a model that is tough and can handle the abuse. The most popular and toughest digital camera in this category is the Fisher Price Tough Kid Camera. To learn more about Fisher Price digital cameras you can go here: Fisher Price Digital Camera. If
you are looking for a digital camera for 8 years and up, you probably
want to go with the major brands in the entry level (read inexpensive)
models. The big difference in the younger kid models is they are
designed to take abuse and the controls and results are very limited.
Once the child is old enough to understand a little more about
photography, they're going to want a more sophisticated unit that
produces better pictures. A 3X optical zoom will handle 90% of most people's shooting requirements. Don't even look at the digital zoom setting and never use it, the quality is terrible. Along with the zoom capabilities, look at the recommended flash distance. Low level flash normally falls off at about 10 feet, if it states more than that, it's good thing but not absolutely necessary. Flash pictures are even tricky for the pros and on camera flash units are limited at best. Does it have both a eye view and LCD view capabilities? Just an LCD can make it difficult to view subject matter, especially in bright light. Always try to get both methods of framing the view and realize that view might not exactly match the end photo. Secondary
considerations are the amount of memory (or size of memory card) that
comes with the camera. You can always get a bigger memory card but it's
nice to get at least a 2 gig card with the camera. Auto focus, and
manual controls are both handy to have. The auto focus for action shots
where you don't have the time to do it yourself, and manual for when you
do. And a good rechargeable battery is a must. It's a good thing if it
runs on regular batteries so you have that option but rechargeable
batteries will save you money. Don't Forget About Accessories: Extra batteries and and memory cards come in handy. A good case can provide protection and also give you somewhere to store extra stuff. |
